RF Online has a very different type of economy that you won’t see in any other MMORPG. Each class has its own “local currency.” Corans have what they call Disena, for Bellateans there’s the Dalant, and lastly for Accretians the CP. These race local currencies can be earned by killing monsters throughout the game. Aside from each race's unique currency, gold is still present in this game upon where each race currency is based. At any given time, users can exchange their local currencies for gold to the NPC called “Coin Exchange” which is present in every race HQ. The NPC also provides users with all the economics about the current state of the market.

There are so many things that can affect your race's currency. For example, the race that has control over the central mining area (“the Core” of the Crag Mine) will benefit from a lower tax rate, which increases the payback of gold to local currency exchange of your race. If your race does not have control of the central mining area of the Crag Mine, your race will experience an increased tax rate on the exchange rate, which means buying gold will be more expensive and you will get less local currency for your gold.

Upon checking the Coin Exchange NPC, you will see a line chart that illustrates the strength of each of the race's currency relative to each other. The Tax rate indicates what the current exchange rate charges are for converting gold vice versa to the local currency. The Exchange Rate (includes the tax rate), shows the Gold: Local Currency Ratio. The Money Holdings shows how much Gold and Local Currency you have currently. The Exchange Adjustment allows you to exchange how much of each currency you wish to have.

This very unique type of economy in a game can stimulate real life economic situations where gold is a commodity that varies depending on the times of economic struggles or gain.
